I'm thrilled to launch my new Hillsborough Google Map as a key new element of this all-new Hillsborough Blog! My new map goes beyond prior MLS Maps, and empowers you to truly understand and visualize Hillsborough like a local. Years in the works, this bespoke map distills Hillsborough into 10 distinct neighborhoods, providing a clear geographic perspective from "the flats" west of El Camino Real (Lower Hillsborough), to a little further "up the hill" (Mid North/Homeplace and Mid South), to the Upper Hillsborough regions toward Skyline and Highway 280 including Skyfarm, Woodgate Hills, Carolands, Lakeview, Parrott Drive Area, and Tobin Clark.

The goal of the map was to incorporate the terms commonly spoken amongst locals ("Lower North, Lower South" etc) instead of the obtuse and rarely used old subdivision names. For example: Anyone know where Hillsborough Heights is? Hillsborough Hills? Brewer Subdivision? Me neither!!! These terms are scarcely spoken and mostly functioned as working titles on surveyor's maps back in the 1920s. For example, the old maps have Roblar Avenue as "Hillsborough Heights." Never in my 20 years of experience have I heard this term spoken. And 99% of the time in speaking with homeowners, buyers, and sellers, Roblar Avenue is regarded as "Lower South." I hope you enjoy this new (but not so new!) perspective on Hillsborough geography.
The new map enables everyone interested in Hillsborough, CA to intellectualize the unique topography, the architectural genres throughout the decades, and what to expect on real estate characteristics and values. Don't forget to click on each neighborhood on the Google Map to access descriptions.
